History
Arlington
Village residences consist of one, two, and three
bedroom townhouses situated on approximately
forty-two acres of rolling topography in south
Arlington. Contractor Gustave Ring and architect
Harvey Warwick originally developed the property
between 1938 and 1941 with funding from the Federal
Housing Administration. Arlington Village was
operated as a rental community until 1980 when the
Holladay Corporation began conversion of 595
townhouses into Arlington Village Townhouse
Condominium. This is why Arlington Village is termed
a conversion condominium. The renovation was done in
phases and completed in 1985, during which many long
time residents purchased their units.
Today, Arlington Village Townhouse Condominiums are
well-managed by the Unit Owners Association and its
Board of Directors. Each unit owner has a
proportional at vote in major decisions. There are
five standing committees; Grounds, Security,
Architectural Review, Covenants and Financial
Management, on which owners are encouraged to serve.
The on-site management staff and maintenance crew
assist in management and maintain the common
element. The maintenance staff is on call 24 hours a
day for lock-out and emergency service. In addition,
in-unit maintenance can be requested by an owner for
a charge of $20.00 per hour.
The solidly built, colonial style, brick town homes
are the pride of Arlington Village. A full-sized
pool, two tennis courts and ample parking are just
some of the many amenities. Landscaped grounds and
mature trees provide the backdrop for the quiet
community atmosphere that is all integral part of
the Village. In addition to the charm and character
that make Arlington Village so special, owners enjoy
great investment potential in a highly convenient
location. Many restaurants, a theater, lots of
shopping opportunities and an Arlington County
Recreation Center are all within walking distance.
Metro Bus runs through the Village for quick easy
access to Metro Rail. All these things taken
together, make Arlington Village a highly desirable
place to live.
